Recent Treats (Only presents for others for the rest of the month I promise)
So here are a few of my recent purchases, which are obviously taking on a rather festive theme of late. It really is my favourite time of year to buy clothes. No matter how many times I head straight for the glitter, metallics and velvet come December, I never tire of them. You can get away with summer metallics and there might be the odd sprinkling of glitter throughout autumn, but they really come into their own at Christmas. Christmas OWNS them. And velvet is truly the preserve of Yuletide. Luxurious and cosy and glamorous all at once.
Here are the Topshop glitter leopard leggings I purchased last week (a bargainous £15):
I wore them with my trusty Dune embellished silver pointed courts (strictly for the season of Noël for sure)
And my ASOS velvet stripe kimono (see, I didn't lie did I?)
And this recently-bought Light Before Dark sheer backless cami (£35). I love the beautiful criss-cross back.
You can see the kimono here but the rest is obscured (I was too busy enjoying the Christmas with Buble tribute at Grill on the Alley this Monday):
I also purchased this delightful Sparkle and Fade gold dress (£23 in the Urban Outfitters sale), which just epitomises Christmas completely.
And which you can partly see in action here:
This Pippa Lynn metallic tee dress in pink (£33 in the Urban Outfitters sale) is also brilliant for combining comfort and glamour at once.
Here I am showing it off at Manchester House (with old Topshop leopard fur coat and ASOS Ka Ching OTK boots, £55)
Here are said OKT boots (so comfy too and a lifesaver from the cold - still getting reacclimatised to English weather!):
I love this River Island checked fur-collar cardigan from ASOS (£55). I've worn it with both dressy and casual outfits, so comfortable and a sufficient replacement for a coat on a night out, but can liven up jeans and a tee with trainers too.
Et voila (with A/W 13 Urban Outfitters 90s floral dress, ASOS velvet choker and past-season Topshop heeled chelsea boots)
(and with Joyrich stars tee, just seen):
Lastly, I am going a bit boots-crazy at the moment and I'm getting a couple of much-coveted pairs for Christmas, as below. I just get so much wear out of boots and I have so much more staying power on a night out than I do in stiletto heels or platforms!
Cheap Monday square toe 60s zip ankle boot, £90:
ASOS Eagle boots, £60:
What will YOU be hoping to see under the tree this Christmas? More importantly, what are you wearing to your festive events?
